For this third edition of the SWING, the R&D team has worked on three areas: the materials, the placement of these materials and the design to improve performance and durability.
Reduced wingspan
The SWING V3 has a reduced wingspan to make it easy to maneuver and surf; any change of direction is much smoother.
The airframe of the SWING V3 is made of HITEX 158g and 178g
The three central segments of the leading edge on each side of the strut are made of HITEX 178g, bringing strength and therefore performance. The central strut and the remaining outer segments of the leading edge are made of HITEX 158g, bringing comfort. Both materials are perfectly distributed to account for the different tensions, high pressures, and weight distribution in this area.
The canopy is made of our new NANO fabric, an innovative micro ripstop polyester in 55g. It benefits from a NANO coating and a Plasma treatment process that brings an increased rigidity, resistance to elongation and tears, and durability. The trailing edge is made of our new HT80, a woven double ripstop high tenacity polyester that brings increased tear resistance and strength to the area, especially in the waves when flagging the wing.
The front of the wing combines horizontal panels separated by a vertical seam from the innovative radial center panels, which are mapped to accurately follow every load trajectory. The trailing edge is controlled by a vertical panel.
Small radial cuts are also implemented on the wingtips and on the back of the strut to spread tensions. Aligning the fibre exactly along the load paths means that stretch can be controlled to a never-before-seen level on a wing.
Thanks to our Staggered Seams, the fabric and its seams work better to keep a smooth and efficient profile and the flying shape of the wing never deforms under load.
New Load Diffuser
Located on the back of the strut, our innovative Load Diffuser made of overlapping panels of hard Mylar and Dacron further helps maintaining the profile sleek and efficient, leading to the ultimate stability, performances, and longevity.
Rigidified Handles
The handles have been rigidified while keeping their original, lighter construction that doesn’t include any hard parts. These grippy, ergonomic and comfortable handles allow for some flexibility, so your wrist is always in line with your arm.
Two independent inflation valves
The SWING V3 features two highly efficient inflation valves: one on the central strut and one on the leading edge. These two areas of the wing face different forces, and thus require two different pressure recommendations. As a result, the central strut is thinner in diameter and gains in rigidity thanks to its independent valve that allows for a better control of its pressure.
With optimized materials and design, the SWING V3 is super stable, light, comfortable and balanced, all while maintaining a certain smoothness in its traction.
With this wing, you can concentrate on your trajectories, the waves, and controlling your foil without needing to check if the wingtips are touching the water. It holds perfectly in the air in a neutral position when turning in the waves and flies itself flawlessly, leaving you free to use the power of the wave with little resistance.
This wing also generates power immediately, and this instant power can turn out to be crucial when kicking out of a wave or waterstarting to safely get to the next set.
