How did you get into all these sports?
My parents, who are passionate about windsurfing and board sports, put me on a windsurfing board when I couldn’t even swim. Since then, I’ve always spent time in the water, doing different types of sports. Today, I myself am driven by this desire to spend time on the water and in the waves, which can be a little frustrating when you live by the Mediterranean, but at least it has taught me to appreciate all kinds of conditions.
What do you do before getting in the water?
I try to warm up but it often goes by the wayside.
Tell us about your best memory on the water.
I think what really stands out for me are the sunset sessions with friends. There are far too many to choose just one!
Worst wipeout?
I was off Wategos in Australia on a bomb, the wingtip of my foil came out a little too much, and I just fell onto the biggest shark I’ve ever seen in my life. In the end, more fear than harm, I think he was more frightened than I was, but I’ve rarely paddled 500 meters so fast.
Who would you like to say thank you to?
My parents, of course, who introduced me to the world of water sports. Then, my friends who make the sessions so much more fun. And also, the Cape foil gang who were incredibly nice to me in Byron Bay and the whole foil community for its benevolence.
A few words on your favorite F-ONE product.
The SK8 750 is the foil on which I’ve had all my best waves. There’s no better feeling than the acceleration it provides in a deep carve.
